Strong winds, lots of snow and slick roads have caused problems all over Trøndelag and along the West Coast, and sent unusually warm temperatures plummeting. Trucks overturned several places and one even slid into a man’s home office in Malvik.
As much as 40 centimeters of snow fell in the mountains, especially in Møre og Romsdal. Winds shifted and suddenly blew in from the northwest, bringing colder weather, toppling some power lines and leaving thousands of homes and businesses without electricity.
There were several serious accidents along the E6 highway near Oppdal and on the E136 in Rauma. Police and state meteorologists urged residents to stay home.
